In close cooperation with Crucible® Industries, Spyderco has developed CPM SPY27, a particle metallurgy stainless steel containing a proprietary mix of alloys, including vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen, and cobalt. This remarkable composition, enhanced by the amplifying effects of cobalt and the state-of-the-art Crucible Particle Metallurgy process, is produced exclusively for Spyderco.

The PlainEdge™ blade of this knife is full-flat ground for superior edge geometry and proudly includes a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ for swift, ambidextrous, one-handed opening. 

The knife's lightweight handle is injection molded from blue fiberglass-reinforced nylon (FRN). The handle houses a stainless steel lock bar that forms the heart of the knife's streamlined Compression Lock® mechanism. An easily cleaned, open-backed construction style and a reversible deep-pocket wire clip allows a choice of left or right-side tip-up carry.
