Santa Fe Stoneworks Segmented 1911 Grips- Carbon Fiber, Fordite, Blue G-10

You will be the envy of the shooting range with these beautiful works of art!

Carbon fiber has several advantages: high stiffness, high tensile strength, high strength to weight ratio, high chemical resistance, high-temperature tolerance, and low thermal expansion. These properties have made carbon fiber very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, motorsports, and other competition sports.

Fordite, aka Detroit agate or Motor Agate, is pre-1985 automobile paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed by the now extinct practice of hand spray-painting multiples of production car bodies in large automotive factories. The over-sprayed paint in the painting bays gradually built up on the tracks and skids that the car bodies were moved on. Over time, many colorful layers built up there. These layers were hardened repeatedly in the ovens that the car bodies went into to cure the paint. Some of these deeper layers were even baked 100 times!! This beautiful rare material is recycled into these beautiful grips.  Each one is unique, no two are the same!
